ATC Residency, Class of 2023-2024

Jessica Von Arx


Jesse is originally from Wilson, North Carolina. She received her BA in Exercise and Sports Science – Fitness Professionalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her undergraduate education, Jesse worked two seasons with the football team as a student athletic training intern. Following her undergraduate education, she received her MS in Athletic Training from the University of Michigan. While there, she worked as a master’s athletic training student with Michigan football, Skyline High School, University of Alabama football, University of Georgia football, and Michigan track and field. She is extremely excited to learn from nationally recognized orthopedics and sports medicine experts and gain experience in the operating room.  


In her free time, Jesse likes to work out and enjoys spending time with her cat, Xerxes Raymond. She also enjoys learning German and improving her language skills. Jesse fully intends to become a better snowboarder and Athletic Trainer at VSON this upcoming year. 

Emily Wood


Emily is originally from Conesus, New York. She graduated from Alfred University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Emily continued her education at Salisbury University, earning her Master of Science in Applied Health and Physiology. Her primary coverage for the Seagulls included cross country, basketball, tennis, swimming, and assisting with football. For the past seven years, she has been a full-time athletic trainer at St. Lawrence University. While there, she worked with field hockey, women’s ice hockey, equestrian, and women’s lacrosse teams. Emily is excited to live in Colorado while expanding her knowledge by learning from world-renowned, recognized orthopaedics and sports medicine experts. She is also excited to gain experience in the operating room. 


In her free time, Emily likes to be outside, exploring nature and listening to country music. She loves going for hikes and discovering new areas. She also enjoys taking photography of nature and wildlife. Emily is looking forward to picking snowboarding back up over the winter.
